Power Distribution Units

A power distribution unit (PDU) is a device that is used to distribute electrical power to multiple devices or loads in a data center, computer room, or other electrical environment. PDUs typically provide a centralized location for connecting and managing power to multiple devices, such as servers, switches, and storage systems.

PDUs typically include a number of outlets or receptacles, as well as circuit breakers or fuses to protect against overloading and short circuits. They may also include features such as monitoring, surge protection, and remote management capabilities.

There are several different types of PDUs, including basic PDUs, which simply provide power distribution and basic protection, and intelligent PDUs, which provide advanced monitoring and management capabilities, such as real-time power usage monitoring and remote power management.

PDUs are critical components in data centers and other electrical environments, as they help to ensure the reliability and availability of electrical power to critical systems and devices. They are also important for power management and energy efficiency, as they allow administrators to monitor and manage power usage in real-time, helping to reduce energy costs and minimize the risk of power-related failures.
